De ce colloque est n\u00e9 un petit ouvrage rassemblant des contributions de Hal Forster, Caroline Busta, Michael Sanchez, Ina Blom et Jutta Koehler, toutes accompagn\u00e9es du commentaire dont elles avaient fait l\u2019objet le jour du colloque (Stefan Deines, Stefanie Heraeus, Magdalena Nieslony, Oliver Brokel).<\/p>\n<p>Le titre fait directement r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 deux auteurs plac\u00e9s au centre du d\u00e9bat\u00a0: d\u2019une part, \u00e0 Michael Fried et son c\u00e9l\u00e8bre texte de 1967\u00a0: <em>Art and Objecthood\u00a0;<\/em> et d\u2019autre part, au th\u00e9oricien marxiste Franco Berardi et son concept de marchandisation des signes qui fait commerce de nos \u00e2mes, qu\u2019il nomme s\u00e9mio-capitalisme. Les auteurs se proposent ici de r\u00e9\u00e9valuer, \u00e0 travers le r\u00f4le toujours plus central de la figure humaine au sein de productions contemporaines qui concilient minimalisme et anthropomorphisme, les rapports sujet\/objet dans le contexte capitaliste du culte vou\u00e9 \u00e0 la marchandise, notamment en ce qu\u2019ils permettent de comprendre mieux les signes que produit la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 et la mani\u00e8re qu\u2019ont les artistes de travailler avec ou contre eux.<\/p>\n<p>F\u00e9tichisme, animisme, avatar, appropriation, travestissement, <em>networking<\/em>, sont autant de termes que l\u2019on retrouve au fil des textes pour d\u00e9finir non pas ce qui rel\u00e8verait d\u2019une subjectivit\u00e9, mais d\u2019une \u00ab\u00a0subjectit\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb que l\u2019on pourrait d\u2019abord interpr\u00e9ter comme l\u2019indication d\u2019une ali\u00e9nation des sujets. Fried voyait d\u00e9j\u00e0 en 1967 dans l\u2019art minimaliste une attitude anthropomorphiste, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire reposant sur un m\u00e9canisme th\u00e9\u00e2tral de repr\u00e9sentation (admettant la d\u00e9finition peu nuanc\u00e9e qu\u2019il donne du th\u00e9\u00e2tre)\u00a0: une illusion, fruit d\u2019un espace sc\u00e9nique bien d\u00e9limit\u00e9, en qu\u00eate de pr\u00e9sence pure, qui n\u2019est finalement rien d\u2019autre qu\u2019un sentiment, r\u00e9duisant l\u2019\u0153uvre \u00e0 un objet soumis \u00e0 un public dot\u00e9 du pouvoir de faire exister la fiction de son autonomie.<\/p>\n<p>Par la transformation de l\u2019<em>objecthood<\/em> en\u00a0<em>subjecthood<\/em>, le recueil se veut une tentative de r\u00e9vision des relations qu\u2019entretiennent sujet et objet sans les enfermer dans une opposition st\u00e9rile. Une affinit\u00e9 les relierait secr\u00e8tement faisant se croiser leurs attributs, jouant parfois \u00e0 se travestir l\u2019un l\u2019autre, pour former\u00a0l\u2019espace d\u2019une subjectit\u00e9\u00a0: lorsque le sujet s\u2019objectalise, ou lorsque les objets s\u2019animent et semblent s\u2019exprimer, comme en t\u00e9moigne l\u2019usage du mannequin par exemple dans les installations d\u2019artistes telles que celles de Thomas Hirschhorn ou de John Miller, ou encore, dans l\u2019alliage du minimalisme avec un anthropomorphisme assum\u00e9 chez Isa Genzken ou Rachel Harrison.
